Over the weekend we played the first round of the Intermediate Hurling Championship. We came up against a very good Lorrha side that proved too strong for us on the day. Despite the scoreline, there were positives to take from this game, in particular our second half performance. We play Boherlahan Dualla in the next round, fixture details TBC.
Last weekend saw the final of the ‘Tommy Waters Memorial Tournament’, with Davins beating Erin’s Own in the final. In total, €1055 was raised for our two charity partners, Carrick on Suir Meals Assistance Service & Réalta Special Needs Sports Club. Thank you to all patrons that kindly donated on the gate to raise a huge sum of money.
Our U15 and U13 hurlers were in action last week. Our U15s played Kilruane McDonaghs on Thursday, coming away with a well deserved win after an exciting contest. We play JK Brackens this Thursday at 7.30pm in Davin Park. Best of luck.
Our U13 hurlers played Newcastle on Friday, with this game finishing in a draw. Well done to both teams.
On Thursday last, we held an U9 hurling blitz & medal presentation in the Davin Park. During the months on June & July our U9s have played a number of local teams in challenge games. The blitz was organized to bring all teams back to together & it was a hugely successful event with some fantastic skill & hurling on show by all teams. Thanks to St. Mollerans GAA Club, Clonea GAA and Piltown GAA for attending.
Our U7s travelled to Ferryhouse in Clonmel on Friday last to take part in a hurling blitz. We played 4 games and a great evening was had by all.
Our Juvenile Summer Camp will take place from 10-12 August in the Davin Park. The camp will be run by DKAM Sport and has been organised to cater for all interests and abilities. The cost is €30 per child. Registration can be made on ‘Clubzap’ or by contacting camp coordinator Antoinette on (085) 870 6690.
