After many months of wondering will be see the hurling field again, championship finally rolls around.

On Saturday evening in Templetuohy our intermediate hurlers play the first round of the championship against North side Borrisokane.

Hard to know what way both teams will be after this recent lockdown period, but going on last year, we will start as underdogs in this game.

After winning the county junior championship last year, we will be hoping to cement our place in the competition for the coming season.

Looking at the recent challenges the older lads are still playing quality hurling with the “younger” lads ready to step up to take the mantle.

We will know more about the team after this weekend, but we will travel to templetuohy (those of us lucky to get a ticket) with excitement and hope.

One thing is for sure it will be great to see the red and white jerseys take to the field again.
