*Positions Played?
Full Back for as long as I can remember
*Favourite game played?
Our first year beating Ballybacon up Intermediate, after losing for years on the trot. Paul Tobin was our inspiration, Mikey Ryan got a wonder point it was the beginning of the club rising again.
*Club players you looked up too growing up?
The teams of the 90’s the Cronin brothers, The Waters, Tom bomb, Skiggs, etc etc just grew up in awe of those men, every one of them.
*Best players you played with?
My brother Richie, in his prime he was different class, Stephen Cronin and Mikey Ryan, we’re close in age. I played with them all the way up and they‘re still there front and centre driving the team on.
*Best memory playing?
Winning our first South Intermediate was special. Winning one coaching the team in 16 probably meant a little more.
*What player trained the hardest from any squad you were part of?
Paul Tobin won’t be bet ever but I see Conor Mackey and Ray Cooke from the current squad that are in the same mould.
*Favourite pitch to play on?
Kilsheelan was like a second home
*Name one goal you have before you retire?
Retired along time ago, I want to coach my club to silverwear again.
*Name one change you would bring into hurling?
Fix the season, shorten the season, no need for players to do 2 pre-seasons and to be training in the shit and muck at the start of the year.
*One piece of advice you would give to your younger self?
Don’t stop playing, I gave up at 25 to start coaching. I should still be playing now. Don’t stop until you‘re physically not able to play anymore, nothing beats playing the game.
